
A: If you purchase land which has a water course, a dam, a creek or a river - or even a water bore, and you want to be sure you have a right to use that water, then your legal team will need to check that a valid water access license is signed over to you. The Water Access License will govern your rights to use the water - and remember, a previous owner may have already sold the water rights. DIPNR is the department which governs Water Access Licenses in New South Wales.
